Introduction:
Hello, this is Sanha, today I'm going to present the brief of my major project.
Contents:
This presentation will cover the project brief, current problems, research and creative campaign ideas.
Brief:
My project name is 'The Real Talk' and the aim of this project is criticising a previous childbirth promotion campaign in South Korea and sharing women's experience and opinions about maternity discrimination in Korea by social media campaign and podcast.
Problem:
I've been interested in the ageing society and low birthrate as I'm from South Korea where has been suffering the ageing population and low birthrate. In South Korea, there has been a lot of childbirth promotion campaign and the government used a lot of money for it. However, it didn't work and one of the campaigns made women very angry. The campaign was making the Birth Map which users can check the number of young women by each area. The campaign wasn't for women, it was for men and most of the women who saw the Birth Map show their anger by social media and criticised the government and asked to stop making this campaign. Including me, a lot of women felt they are just meats or babymaking machine. The government doesn't listen to women and doesn't care why we don't want to have children. Most of the childbirth promotion campaign is focused on making women feel guilty even though most of the women say maternity discrimination is one of the main reasons they don't want to have children. From the research, I found solving maternity discrimination at work and home is the key point to promote childbirth.
Research 1:
I made a research plan to develop the insight of the project. I'm going to collect the women's reactions to the Birth Map and the real conversations about maternity discrimination from sociologists and feminists in South Korea and the people around me.
Research 2:
I'd like to focus on the research about what has been told to women and what women want to hear from the government and society.
Creative campaign:
I want to make a social media campaign like MeToo hashtag campaign so that women can share their experience about maternity discrimination and ask a change in society. Also, I thought using Podcast will be good in terms of speaking up and making change.
Creative campaign 2:
After finishing the research, I'd like to focus on branding the Podcast and Social media campaign and making campaign promotion video and posters.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, The vision of my project, The Real Talk social media campaign is sharing women's voice and make a change in society to solve the problem of maternity discrimination in Korea and everywhere in the world.
